Hello everyone, the old saying, “time flies when you’re having fun” has never been truer than this summer. It’s so hard to believe almost three months has passed since our Fistful of Dollars fund-raiser. Because of your generosity, we were able to present Karla Nichols of Cancer Action a check for $3,000.00 on May 6.
The GNO girls haven’t let grass grow under their feet since our last blog. They have been gearing up for the Susan G Koman Race for the Cure, Sept 13, 2015, at Worlds of Fun. It should be a lot of fun. Open enrollment has already begun. If you would like to join our team, it is listed under “GNO 4 BC”. Stay tuned for more details about the race and the “South Pacific Girls Weekend” preceding the race in our next blog.
In addition to our GNO activities, here is what we’ve have been up to this summer:
Aileen Vaka is gearing up for her upcoming retirement at the end of August.
Marilyn Ashley raised money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand and retired.
Liz and Keith Barber are in the midst of finishing their addition to their home
JoAnne White has kept busy making birthday treats and spoiling her grandchildren, especially her latest, Aiden.
Joe and Cindy Devine bought a house and moved from North Kansas City to Kansas City.
Donna Kennedy also retired and has already learned “Oh My Darling” on her new Ukulele
Debbie Haze has very athletic grandchildren who keep her busy with their sporting events.
Jann Faltermeier and her newly retired husband, Carl, are busy traveling.
Debbie Lityma and her husband, Jim has also been traveling.
Our next blog will also contain details about our 2016 fund-raiser.
